Parent & Me, aka Hummingbirds!
Hummingbird 2026-2027
Classes begin October 6th
Hummingbirds is led by our Executive Director, Becca Hackett-Levy
Learn to take the “agh” and “be careful” out of parent littles in nature.
Our Hummingbird Program, aka Parent and Me, is designed to create a nourishing environment for both children and their families. Nature provides a peaceful and calm place for children to build a joyful relationship to the outdoors. This child-led programming takes place on Tuesdays, from 9:30-11am, October through May. Infants and toddlers will engage in play and socialization in nature while Becca guides parents in safe ways to engage their young children outdoors. Families will enjoy open-ended, nature-based play with plenty of space and time to learn how to be a human with other humans. Together we will spend time in the mud kitchen to invent, mix, pour and create together. Our classroom has a rich library, messy art explorations, and lots of time for nature investigations with real tools and instruments.
At each meeting we will have opportunities for community music, stories and time for parents to chat. Our facilitated discussions provide opportunities for families to share and discuss current parenting challenges, offer inspiration, tools and support with parenting. Often these occur during snack time or informally with individual families. We hope this gives everyone a chance to build relationships and develop our community. We will also begin a warm introduction to forest and nature-based education.
