What is the lantern walk?
Much like the Japanese Winter Illuminations Festivals, Diwali
celebrated across the planet, and European traditions of ringing in
the transition of fall to winter- we will welcome the planetary shift
of seasons with our lights and songs. We will decorate lanterns(all
supplies provided), have snacks on our blankets and enjoy the company
of our wonderful community. Then, when the darkness feels too deep, we
will venture out and enjoy walking the forest grounds together as our
lanterns and voices light the night to welcome the season.
Come for the picnic and crafting. Stay for the lantern walk. We will craft our lanterns while we eat and when the sun is properly down, welcome the winter season of early nights and cool weather.
Conferences will take place after morning classes. Nest and drop in childcare will be offered.
School is in session.
We will resume our regular scheduled school day on the following Monday.
Please see these resources on how to talk about Native American Heritage Day and begin to change the narrative around Thanksgiving.

No Camp Today
Today is a chance to hang with Mama Nature together! We used to visit Topanga State Beach and have lunch at the Reel Inn but after the loss of the historic businesses along this stretch of the PCH and the ash on the beach we are sadly rethinking our location. We will let you know ASAP our new location. Suggestions welcome.
