Parent Education aka Hummingbirds!

Hummingbird Spring and Summer 2025

Hummingbirds will continue through the spring until June 11th

Summer Hummingbirds offers classes all summer with a hiatus for the weeks of July 14th and July 21st.

No class August 15th-September 29th so we can prep for and begin our new school year.

The program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Families choose one or two days per week to participate.  Our program consists of open-ended play for toddlers with plenty of mud kitchen, library, art exploration, and lots of time for nature investigations. Our Parent Education Hummingbird Program is designed to create a nourishing environment for both children and their families.  Nature provides a peaceful and calm place for children and builds a joyful relationship to the outdoors. Our mud kitchen area gives toddlers a chance to invent, mix, pour and create together.  Opportunities for community music, exploration with natural materials, stories and introduction to different art materials are also part of our morning.  Families provide a light snack and water bottle for their children.

Our facilitated discussions provide opportunities for families to share and discuss current parenting challenges, offer inspiration, tools and support with parenting. Often these occur during snack time or informally with individual families. We hope this gives everyone a chance to build relationships and develop our community.  We will also begin a warm introduction to forest and nature-based education.
